Today, we had the privilege of participating in the Movies that Matter Festival with the AMIR Project. We had the opportunity to showcase our films to an important audience. Each film carries significant meaning and tells its own unique story, clearly highlighting human rights and the fundamental importance of freedom.
Our films explore various aspects of freedom, from the right to express oneself without fear of repression to the right to live without the constraints of oppressive regimes. They depict the struggles and triumphs of individuals fighting for their rights and emphasize how crucial freedom is for personal and societal development.
Participating in such a prestigious festival allowed us to freely express our opinions and share our messages about human rights and freedom. It provided a platform to raise awareness about the challenges faced by those living under oppressive conditions and the universal desire for freedom and dignity.
Our participation in such a prestigious event allows us to voice our perspectives without fear, something I couldn’t imagine doing back in Turkmenistan. Every activity I engage in here not only makes me feel more confident but also helps me become the Ayna who сouldn’t act and express herself freely. In Turkmenistan, I lacked the freedom of choice and opinion, but now, every step I take moves me closer to achieving true freedom. Many thanks to AMIR PROJECT my teachers and my Dutch family, Alexander Moust and Lucienne Groot, for their unwavering support and encouragement.
